Love in XXL Size – How I Found Myself and His Heart Part 2

First Date – Dinner and the First Kiss

The day of our meeting came sooner than I expected. I sat in front of the mirror, gently fixing my hair and smiling at my reflection. In my heart, I felt excitement but also uncertainty — would Jack see me for who I really am? After so many years of closing myself off, this was a new, unknown path for me.

We agreed to meet at a cozy restaurant in the city center — a place Jack chose, saying he liked simple, warm places with a homely atmosphere. When he came in, he smiled broadly, and his eyes lit up when he saw me. He wore a simple but elegant sweater, and I felt this was the moment I had been waiting for.

- Monica. - he said warmly, reaching out his hand to greet me.

- Jack. - I replied with a slight tremor in my voice, then sat down across from him.

We talked from the very first moments as if we had known each other for years. He spoke about his passion for music, I shared the books I had recently read. Every now and then he laughed softly at my sense of humor, and I gladly listened to his stories.

- You know, Monica, it’s rare to meet someone who can make you laugh so naturally. - he said after a moment, looking me straight in the eyes.

I felt warmth spread throughout my body.

- Maybe it’s because I can laugh at myself. - I answered, smiling.

After dinner, he suggested a walk. We strolled slowly, talking about everything and nothing. When we stopped at a bench in the park, Jack suddenly looked at me and said:

- Monica, isn’t it strange how, after so many years of loneliness, you can suddenly feel that this is the moment?

I looked at him, my heart beating faster. Then he gently took my hand. I felt his warmth and calm that he gave me. After a moment, he leaned in and kissed me softly — as if afraid to ruin the moment.

That first kiss was like a promise of a new beginning. I wanted it to last forever.
